A Guide to Prescription Lenses

Single Vision

These are the most common type of prescription lenses. They correct for one field of vision, helping people see near, far or correcting astigmatism.

Progressives

A true “multifocal” lens option that has a smoother progression of lens powers (without a line in the lens) for clearer vision at any distance—near, far and everywhere in between. Today’s progressives use digital technology that is now much easier to adjust to.

Bifocals

Lenses with a line that allows an individual to see both near and far without having to switch glasses.
